چکیده

The paper describes a simulation method to predict efficiently and accurately how changes to a transmission’s housing affect gear mesh misalignments. Two key elements of this analysis are described. A fully coupled non-linear algorithm to analyse the shaft/bearing/gear/housing hyperstatic system has been developed to analyze the non-linear components. Using MSC.Nastran, a reduced stiffness matrix superelement representing the transmission housing is derived. An investigation of the effects of stiffness of each of the components is presented using a case study. The results show that the inclusion of the interaction between the housing and internal components significantly affects the predictions for bearing life and gear mesh misalignments. This affects how the gear is modified to minimise transmission error and noise. The application of this technique at both concept and detail design stages is discussed. 1 Corresponding author. : The gear systems are widely used in industry to transmit the power or change the direction of the torque. Due to the extensive usage of the gears, the detailed designing and the subsequent maintenance of these systems are more and more evident. System recognition can be achieved through modeling the system, investigating the system behavior, and comparing the results obtained through the mode...

Effect of flexible pin on the dynamic behaviors of wind turbine planetary gear drives

Flexible pins eliminate the need for straddle mounting, and therefore enable the maximum possible number of planets to be used for any particular epicyclic ratio of power transmission systems. Having more planet gears will significantly increase the input torque density. In this type of design, the pin stiffness and position tolerances are important parameters as they affect the dynamic perform...

Simulation and Experimental Study of Vibration and Noise of Pure Electric Bus Transmission based on Finite Element and Boundary Element Methods

Since the electric motor of pure electric vehicle replaced the engine, the "masking effect" disappears, and the problem of vibration and noise of the transmission becomes prominent. This is generated during the gear meshing and is transmitted to the housing through the shaft and bearing. Thereby, radiation noise of the housing are generated. The prediction and analysis...

Meshing Error of elliptic cylinder gear based on tooth contact analysis

In order to study the dynamic meshing characteristics of the elliptic cylinder gear and obtain the meshing error of the gear transmission system, the two-dimensional static contact analysis of the gear tooth surface is carried out by using ANSYS software, and the key parts of the contact area of the tooth surface are determined. Then, the dynamic meshing model of the elliptic cylinder gear is e...

Dynamic Analysis of Wind Turbine Gearbox Components

Abstract: This paper studies the dynamic response of a wind turbine gearbox under different excitation conditions. The proposed 4 degree-of-freedom (DOF) dynamic model takes into account the key factors such as the time-varying mesh stiffness, bearing stiffness, damping, static transmission error and gear backlash. Both the external excitation due to wind and the internal excitation due to the ...
